Every product we have put through the bench, newest first. Scores are out of 100 and include a value-for-money component.
A18 Pro, a 48 MP ultra-wide, four studio microphones and — for the first time — the 5x tetraprism telephoto that used to be Pro Max-only make this the most complete small Pro iPhone Apple had shipped, right up until it was quietly discontinued a year later.
PSSR and 60 compute units finally kill the fidelity-versus-performance toggle — but two price hikes have pushed the Pro to $899.99.
A 12 GB, vapor-cooled A19 Pro, three 48 MP rear cameras and an extra 1.5 hours of battery make this the most substantial Pro upgrade in years — as long as you can live with a scratch-prone aluminium unibody and a shorter telephoto.
A 120 Hz 3K OLED on every configuration, Panther Lake graphics that embarrass every other iGPU, and 18-25 hours of battery — undone slightly by a spongy keyboard and three USB-C ports.
A 30-hour battery, USB-C lossless playback and a defeatable ANC circuit fix almost every complaint about gen 1 — except the one about the tuning.
Panther Lake, a 58 Wh battery, a modular keyboard and a 9/10 iFixit score — the most convincing X1 Carbon in years, if you can live with soldered RAM and mid-tier silicon.
45 W, a real 20 mm tweeter and an IP68 chassis make this the most complete Charge yet — as long as you read the 24-hour runtime figure as marketing, not measurement.
Five tools, two 3.0 Ah packs and a 30-minute charger for as little as $399 on promotion — but every motor in the bag is a generation behind the competition.
102 litres, a three-point latch closure instead of a zip, and a polypropylene shell that shrugs off baggage handlers — at 4.6 kg and with almost no interior organisation.
